Planted in 1978 and replanted in 2003, the Hopewell Hills Estate vineyard features 19 acres of incredible Pinot Noir grapes rooted in the heart of Oregon’s renowned Eola-Amity Hills AVA. Perched along the Van Duzer Corridor, our site benefits from the region’s hallmark afternoon coastal winds, which naturally cool the vines and extend hang time — leading to balanced acidity, complex flavor development, and elegant structure.

The vineyard sits on a diverse mix of soils, with the most prominent being Jory-Felderman silty clay loam and Woodburn silt loam — both known for their excellent drainage and ability to stress the vines just enough to concentrate flavors. Smaller sections of Dayton and Verboort silt loams further contribute to the complexity and nuance of the fruit. Combined with our elevation and southern slope exposure, these soils help produce Pinot Noir with depth, finesse, and a true sense of place.

Farming Practices

Our farming practices meet LIVE standards, no irrigation, minimal till with a natural cover crop.

Our single wire bilateral high cordon trellis invites the sunlight to dance freely among the vines, nurturing each Pinot Noir grape to perfection. Elevated and open, this trellis design ensures that every cluster enjoys the gentle caress of the Van Duzer winds, fostering an environment where flavor complexity flourishes.

It’s a system that balances nature’s rhythm with the art of winemaking, yielding grapes that carry the essence of the vineyard into every bottle. This trellis isn’t just about farming; it’s about creating a legacy in every sip.
